한동대학교(총장 박성진) SW중심대학(National Center of Excellence in Software) 소속 학생 창업팀인 ‘뉴던(NEWDAWN)’과 ‘누스(NOUS)’가 과기정통부 주관 ‘2026년 한국형 아이코어(I-Corps)’ 사업에 나란히 선정되었다. 이미지 기반 커뮤니케이션 플랫폼을 개발하는 뉴던팀과 AI 교육 플랫폼을 구축 중인 누스팀은 기술력과 글로벌 시장 진출 가능성을 인정받아 미국 현지 시장 검증과 팀당 최대 5천만 원의 사업화 자금을 지원받게 되었다.
이러한 성과는 한동대가 SW중심대학 지정 이후 구축해온 전주기적 창업 교육 시스템의 결실로 평가받고 있다. 대학 측은 디자인 스프린트 캠프, 소프트웨어 팩토리 등 실전형 프로그램을 통해 현재까지 예비창업패키지 18개 팀, I-Corps 15개 팀 선정 및 누적 지원금 약 20억 원 확보라는 독보적인 실적을 거두었다. 조성배 교수는 이번 성과가 대학의 지원 역량과 학생들의 혁신적 아이디어가 결합된 결과라며, 앞으로도 일상과 교육 현장의 문제를 해결하는 비즈니스 모델 창출을 적극 지원하겠다고 밝혔다.

Two student startup teams, 'NEWDAWN' and 'NOUS', from the National Center of Excellence in Software at Handong Global University (President Sungjin Park) have been selected for the '2026 Korean I-Corps' program hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT. Team NEWDAWN, which is developing an image-based communication platform, and Team NOUS, which is building an AI education platform, were recognized for their technical excellence and potential for global market expansion. Consequently, they will receive up to 50 million KRW per team in commercialization funds and undergo market validation locally in the United States.
This achievement is viewed as a fruit of the full-life cycle startup education system that Handong Global University has established since its designation for the National Program of Excellence in Software. Through practical programs such as the Design Sprint Camp and Software Factory, the university has achieved unrivaled results, including the selection of 18 teams for the K-Startup Preliminary Startup Package and 15 teams for I-Corps, while securing approximately 2 billion KRW in cumulative support funds.
Professor Sungbae Cho stated that this success is a result of combining the university's support capabilities with the students' innovative ideas. He added that the university will continue to actively support the creation of business models that solve problems in daily life and educational settings.
