한동대학교가 스페인 몬드라곤대학교 팀 아카데미(MTA)와 함께 포항 지역 첨단기업의 유럽 시장 진출 전략을 도출하는 ‘글로벌 비즈니스 캡스톤 프로그램’을 진행했다. 교육부·경상북도·포항시가 지원한 이번 프로그램에는 몬드라곤대학교 학생 6명과 한동대 학부·대학원생 18명 등 총 24명이 참여했으며, 전 일정을 영어로 진행하며 글로벌 창업 역량을 키웠다.
참가 학생들은 한·스페인 연합팀을 구성해 디자인 스프린트와 AI 프로토타이핑 기법을 활용하고, 포항의 이차전지 재활용 전문기업 ‘다원’과 영상 데이터 AI 분석기업 ‘딥비전스’의 실제 사례를 바탕으로 유럽 시장 진출을 위한 비즈니스 모델과 애플리케이션 시제품을 제작·발표했다. 또한 스페인 액셀러레이터 BERRIUP의 Jon Ander 대표와 MTA 김강현 글로벌 팀코치의 멘토링을 통해 현지 시장 관점의 실전 피드백을 받았다.
이번 프로그램을 통해 한동대와 몬드라곤대 학생들은 실제 기업 사례를 기반으로 글로벌 협업과 창업 실무를 경험했으며, 향후 1년간 글로벌 네트워크를 유지하며 후속 공동 프로젝트를 이어갈 예정이다.
조성배 한동대 AI컴퓨터전자공학부 교수는 “팀 창업 교육으로 유명한 몬드라곤대와 협력해 학생들의 글로벌 실무 역량을 높이고 지역기업의 해외 진출 가능성을 타진했다”며 “지역과 세계를 잇는 산학협력 프로그램을 지속해서 확대하겠다”고 말했다.

Handong Global University conducted the Global Business Capstone Program in collaboration with Mondragon University’s Team Academy (MTA) in Spain to develop strategies for the European market expansion of advanced technology companies in Pohang. Supported by the Ministry of Education, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, and Pohang City, the program brought together 24 students, including six students from Mondragon University and 18 undergraduate and graduate students from Handong Global University. All activities were conducted in English, providing students with opportunities to develop their global entrepreneurship skills.
The participants formed Korean-Spanish joint teams and used design sprint and AI prototyping methods to develop business models and application prototypes for entering the European market. They analyzed real-world cases from Dawon, a secondary battery recycling company in Pohang, and DeepVisions, an AI company specializing in video data analysis, and presented their proposed solutions. They also received practical feedback from Jon Ander, CEO of Spanish accelerator BERRIUP, and Kanghyun Kim, Global Team Coach at MTA, based on perspectives from the local European market.
Through the program, students from Handong Global University and Mondragon University gained experience in global collaboration and entrepreneurship based on real-world business cases. The participating students will maintain their global network and continue working on joint projects over the next year.
Professor Sungbae Jo of the School of Artificial Intelligence, Computer and Electrical Engineering (AICE) at Handong Global University said, “By collaborating with Mondragon University, known for its team entrepreneurship education, we sought to enhance students’ global practical capabilities and explore the potential for local companies to expand into overseas markets. We will continue to expand industry-academic cooperation programs that connect the local community with the global community.”
