Title: Introduction to Satellites and Satellite Communication
Abstract: This talk will introduce various technologies, issues and
trade-offs in satellite communications, as well as a brief introduction
to cube satellites. There will be a case study using the technology
currently used by NearSpace Launch Inc. to communicate via the
Globalstar simplex and duplex network.
Bio: Dr. Stefan Brandle is a professor of computer science at Taylor
University in Indiana, USA. His undergraduate studies include Bible and
related topics, and philosophy. His M.S. and Ph.D. were both in computer
science, with emphases on operating systems, data communications, and
intelligent tutoring systems. He also has experience in network and
system maintenance, and cybersecurity research. One of his current
projects is to develop software to research effective methods of
memorizing text, especially Bible verses.
